Hello,
I am trying to build small application on top of Licode which will allow
group chat and desktop sharing.
could some one guide me on how this can be built.

Hi,
to include a chat in your application you can use our Stream-data channel.
An for share the desktop, use a Video-stream with the channel “screen”
enabled. You will find all the documentation here
