Google Chrome 38: No offert SDP

Hello,

I updated my Chrome to 38 and now I get some troubles in my first
connection. This is my erizo log, the line numbers can be different because
I added some lines, specially logs.

Failed to load resource: net::ERR_CACHE_MISS

Last RTCiceCandidateEvent is expanded, I think this should be a null
candidate and then create OFFER but I dont get anything else. I dont know
if this ERR_CACHE_MISS can be the problem. This only show it with this
Chrome 38, but sometimes I get this error and still get a successfully
connection. I dont have Forms so I dont understand this cache miss.

After connection fails I can refresh browser and then everything works
fine, even if I close browser and open again. I need delete all navigation
data, close browser and open it again for get (sometimes) this error.

It happend in every Chrome 38 I tried, Linux, Windows, Mac…

Did you try another webrtc example?
If it works there I don’t see why it wouldn’t work with licode.

This was the discussion I had about the SDP problem we incurred when the
version of Chrome we where using changed to a newer version.

Our application has been running fine using Chrome Beta on Nexus Tablets
and Android Phones. But recently using Chrome Beta ver 37.0.2062.39 the
application fails to set up the turn server ssdp packets correctly and as a
result the receiving client video is not shown.
If we use Chrome ver 36.0.1985.128 on the same tablet and phone the
application works as ok as the turn server ssdp packets are setup
correctly. Running our application on desktop versions of Chrome
36.0.1985.125 m and 35.0.196.153 works ok. Its appears the Chrome ver of
37.x is causing the problem. Log of turn server setup snippets for Chrome
Beta and Chrome with our application running on a Nexus Tablet are provided
below.

Hi!

Fixed in the latest commit in the master branch. Try it.
This issue was also present in the Desktop Canary Chrome, and jnoring fixed
it in the async_events branch.

Last RTCiceCandidateEvent is expanded, I think this should be a null
candidate and then create OFFER but I dont get anything else. I dont know
if this ERR_CACHE_MISS can be the problem. This only show it with this
Chrome 38, but sometimes I get this error and still get a successfully
connection. I dont have Forms so I dont understand this cache miss.

After connection fails I can refresh browser and then everything works
fine, even if I close browser and open again. I need delete all navigation
data, close browser and open it again for get (sometimes) this error.

It happend in every Chrome 38 I tried, Linux, Windows, Mac…

In our app which works in version below 38 we find that for version 38 or
greater the following occures.

In erizo.js

when new = Erizo.VideoPlayer is called in version below 38 than
e.prototype. getTransport is called
e.prototype.publish is called
4 e.prototype.of is called
namespaces[b] is set
a.util.query(this.socket.options.query) is called
this.prepareUrl() is called
socket.io called

In versions 38 or greater after a call to:

new = Erizo.VideoPlayer
none of the above functions are called and we have a black screen with
no client connection.

Something in chrome 38 and above is breaking licodes ability to connect to
the Erizocontroller

I solved my ERR_CACHE_MISS but still have a connection error.

The error happening when the erizo client must prepare the SDP offer. It
receive the RTCIceCandidateEvents but seems it doesn’t receive the last
RTCIceCandidateEvent where candidate is null. So offer was not prepared and
the erizo client doesn’t sended offer to the erizo controller. The
presenter loaded local video but erizoAgent was not created either, viewer
doesn’t received streaming and after 30-60 seconds the presenter local
video is removed although the webcam led is still on.

This happend only in the first load, if I refresh by F5 all connections
works fine. I tried the licode demo and connection is OK.

I have not tried another version other than licode. I recall the problem I
had was related to changes required in the webrtc-stacks code. I believe at
the time I had the problem a fix was made to the ChromeCanary’Stack.js or

Failed to load resource: net::ERR_CACHE_MISS

Last RTCiceCandidateEvent is expanded, I think this should be a null
candidate and then create OFFER but I dont get anything else. I dont know
if this ERR_CACHE_MISS can be the problem. This only show it with this
Chrome 38, but sometimes I get this error and still get a successfully
connection. I dont have Forms so I dont understand this cache miss.

After connection fails I can refresh browser and then everything works
fine, even if I close browser and open again. I need delete all navigation
data, close browser and open it again for get (sometimes) this error.

It happend in every Chrome 38 I tried, Linux, Windows, Mac…

I tried a licode demo and worked fine for same os/browser.

After many tries I think that the ERR_CACHE_MISS is breaking in someway the
construction of the SDP offer when error is happening in the receive of
candidates. When error it’s showed before or after then everything is
working fine, when error it’s showed in the receive of candidates then
connection fails. When I open the browser console and make F5 this error
never show it again and everything is working.

I’m trying to find how to solve this ERR_CACHE_MISS. This is probably my
mistake and not a licode bug or browser incompatibility, sorry for
inconvenient.
